Stations of the Cross & Soups
One of the long-kept traditions of the Catholic Church is praying the Stations of the Cross particularly during Lent. And just like many, if not all, Catholic parishes in the world, our parish in Dunsborough has been praying the Stations of the Cross in all Fridays of Lent.
Attending the Stations of the cross during Lent is such a special time that allows us to get closer to the Lord, reminding us of the sheer agony Jesus went through. So, we pledge once again, to put our sins and faults behind us…pick up our cross of life’s difficulties and struggle on, as Jesus did, to win eternal glory with the Lord.
Fr Archie worked hard to bring our Parish closer, and the lure of a selection of delicious soups (including a special Filipino tamarind-base soup made by Fr Archie) waited for us after the final Friday’s “Stations,” and was very well attended. It brought warmth, laughter and calls for more gatherings. Two other parishioners served a vegie soup and a noodle soup called “lomi”. Some also brought some rolled pancake tied with a strip of banana leaves with some sweet syrup for dessert. Needless to say, the foods were all delectable! A big thank you to all!
We’d love to see more parishioners, locals and visitors, join us for future ‘tasty’ events! [reported by Mary Ann McMullen]
